Demetrius Henry was already a highly regarded player as a member of the class of 2012.
However, the 6-foot-9, 212-pound power forward from Northeast (FL) High School decided to reclassify to 2013.
“I just felt that I can get better and I need one more year to improve my strength so I can get to college and dominate,” Henry told InsideTheU.com on Friday night. “And [this way] I can be talking about the League in a year or two.”
Prior to the interview, Henry and his team lost a tough game to Dillard in the BCAA Big 8 Tournament semifinals. Dillard, led by junior guard Ramello Walker, won by a score of 49-43. Henry had 14 points in the loss.
The big man said that he is being recruited by Memphis, Virginia Tech, Miami, South Florida, Kansas State, and Clemson. He claims scholarship offers from all six schools.
