Catching Up With Brandon Austin

by Alex Schwartz

Brandon Austin was not able to lead Imhotep Charter (PA) to a victory in the fifth place game of the Montverde Academy Invitational Tournament on Saturday, but his performance was impressive nonetheless.

The 6-foot-6 junior guard displayed a superb all-around game during a 44-42 loss to Shiloh (GA). Austin finished with 12 points in the contest and displayed the ability to both rebound and distribute the basketball.

After the contest, Austin took the time to speak with VUSports.com to discuss the status of his recruitment and more.

The class of 2013 prospect listed scholarship offers from Penn State, Rutgers, Georgetown, Villanova, Syracuse and Miami. He said he is also hearing from Wake Forest, Virginia Tech and others he could not remember.

Asked if he has a favorite right now, Austin replied, "I like Penn State. Syracuse is my favorite, but I like Penn State more."
