Isaiah Lewis Considering Six
by Alex Schwartz
With Jermaine Lawrence transferring out of state, 6'3 shooting guard Isaiah Lewis may well be the best player in the state of New York in the class of 2013. A standout at
Christ the King, Lewis recently took the time to discuss his recruitment with Northstar Basketball.
At this point, Lewis said that he is still considering Memphis, Kansas, Louisville, Villanova, Georgia Tech, and Florida State.
Lewis, who claims scholarship offers from all six programs, said of whether he has any favorites, "Not really I'm wide open."
Of those half dozen schools, the only ones he has has taken unofficial visits to thus far are Georgia Tech and Villanova.
Lewis originally planned to announce his decision several weeks ago, but instead pushed it back. He said the decision to hold off was because he "didn't want to rush the process."
In the past Lewis had said he plans to attend college with Brannen Greene, a 6'7 small forward out of Mary Persons (GA) who is ranked #29 in the Northstar Basketball Post-July 2013 Top 80. A few months ago, Greene pledged to the Kansas Jayhawks.
"Not really," Lewis said of whether Green being committed to KU will impact him, "we are friends and all but I still have to make the best choice for me."
Asked if Green has been trying to recruit him to Kansas, Lewis replied, "We talk about it yeah."
It remains to be seen whether or not Lewis will join Green in Lawrence, Kan., as the Big Apple junior is still holding off on a decision and weighing his options.
