Dual Sport Star Maquedius Bain Considering Visits

by Alex Schwartz

There is no question that Maquedius "Quay" Bain could play basketball at the Division I level.

However, it is on the gridiron where he really excels.

The 6-foot-5 junior from University School (FL) is committed to the Florida State football program as a defensive tackle.

In fact, during University's basketball game against Pine Crest (FL) last night, the US student section would break out into the Seminole War Chant when he made a big play.

Bain, who had 12 points in a 59-46 loss, was the Suns' best player until he fouled out with 6:20 to go. Despite his commitment to Florida State, Miami is a school that has been in touch with him.

"Yeah, junior days and stuff like that I was invited to, but I was out of town," Bain said.

The class of 2013 prospect said that he holds football scholarship offers from Florida State, Miami, Wisconsin, Marshall, Alabama, and Wake Forest.
