2015 Prospect: Karl Towns
Karl Towns is not your typical high school freshman. The first thing one notices about the ninth grader is that he checks in at 6-foot-10.
The height is not the only that stands out about Towns on the basketball court, though. The 230-pounder possesses an advanced skill set and a game well beyond his years, including a superb 3-point stroke that makes him a matchup nightmare.
Towns is already considered one of the nation's elite class of 2015 prospects, and the St. Joseph's Metuchen (NJ) star showed why in a 58-57 win over Penn Wood (PA) on Wednesday at the Jameer Nelson Philly.com Holiday Classic. The freshman phenom dropped a game-high 19 points and was named co-MVP of the game at Widener University.
Afterwards, he spoke with VUSports.com about a variety of topics, including his recruitment, his game, his hype, and thoughts on Villanova.
"You know, the pressure always been [there] for me," Towns said. "I always [have] gotten a lot of hype and pressure, [but] St. Joe's always been there for me, my coaches and my AAU coaches and my mom and dad . . . my parents always been there for me."
