Pair of NJ Prospects, Bodie & Rivers, Picking Up Interest
by Alex Schwartz
Both senior forward Aaron Bodie and junior guard Bryan Rivers are New Jersey natives waiting for their first Division I scholarship offer.
Bodie is a 6-foot-6 four man who attends Newark East Side, while Rivers is a 6-foot-1 floor general out of West Windsor-Plainsboro South. Over the past couple days, RecruitRecon had the chance to see both players in action as well as and discuss the status of their recruitments.
A long and bouncy frontcourt player, Bodie does not have ideal height for a power forward. However, his quick leaping ability allows him to play bigger and he has a nice frame as well. The class of 2012 prospect was fairly quiet in his team’s 53-44 season opening victory against a shorthanded East Orange (NJ) team on Friday night.
After the contest, Bodie said that the schools he is currently garnering interest from are St. Bonaventure and Iona. He noted that it is “still too early” for him to name a leader in his recruitment.
