Zachary Johnson Scores 25 & Talks Recruiting

by Alex Schwartz

The class of 2014 in the state of Florida is a loaded group. One of the best players in the bunch is Zachary Johnson, a 6-foot-1, 185-pound shooting guard out of Miramar High School.

On Thursday night, Johnson led the Patriots to a 67-64 victory over West Broward High School, finishing with a game-high 25 points.

Although he shot just 7 for 16 at the free throw line, Johnson came up big when it mattered most, scoring nearly half his points (12), in the fourth quarter.

Miramar led by double-digits for the majority of the game, but West Broward went on a major run in the fourth quarter and actually tied the score with fewer than three minutes to play.

"I think we came out good, but we laid down a little bit, we shouldn’t have let them back,” Johnson said after the game. “[We are a] really young team, we’ll be better in January. They’re not gonna get us in January.”
