2013 SG Steven Haney Takes In Miami Practice

by Alex Schwartz

The University of Miami has just one commitment in its 2012 recruiting class right now, but that does not mean it is too early to work on members of the 2013 class.

On Wednesday, Miami hosted St. Thomas Aquinas (FL) junior wing Steven Haney on an unofficial visit. InsideTheU caught up with the 6-foot-6, 180-pound shooting guard to discuss his game, recruitment, UM visit, and more.

“Right now, mostly South Florida, Miami, Oregon State, Stanford, Central Florida, Iowa State, and Drake,” Haney said of who is involved in his recruitment.

Haney said he has offers from South Florida, Iowa State and Drake and also noted that he is “still pretty wide open” in his recruitment.

In addition to Miami, Haney said he has also tripped to South Florida, Western Michigan, Harvard, Detroit, and Michigan. Outside of USF, Haney said those schools are “not as much” in the picture at this point.
