Top 150 Commitment Spree Continues; Other Recent Pledges

Go ahead and make it 18 top 150 commitments in the last 15 days. The recent spree of pledges from members of the Northstar Basketball Post-July 2012 Top 150 continued this evening, as Scout.com's Josh Gershon broke the news that Xavier Johnson had popped for Colorado.

Johnson, a 6'6 small forward out of Mater Dei (CA), is the #88 ranked player in the class of 2012. He is one of two ranked players headed to Boulder to play for Tad Boyle. The other one is 6'9 power forward Josh Scott of Lewis-Palmer (CO), who is ranked #131 in the class.

Colorado has now added two 2012 commits in as many days, as the Buffaloes landed Chris Jenkins of University of Detroit Jesuit HS (MI). TJ Kelley of Inside Prep Sports had the news of the commitment from the 6'6 small forward. The other member of Colorado's 2012 haul is 6'8 power forward Wesley Gordon of Sierra (CO).

A handful of other commitments have come down over the past several days. Here is a rundown on some of the main pledges from unranked players, with the prospects listed alphabetically.

- Dallas Anglin, a 6'1 shooting guard out of Seton Hall Prep (NJ), made his collegiate choice yesterday. He pledged to Hofstra, per Zach Braziller of the New York Post.

- A source informed Northstar Basketball that 6'7 power forward Chris Bryant committed to Florida Atlantic today. A graduate of Rickards (FL), Bryant is spending a post-graduate year at Fishburne Military Academy (VA). He was just outside the top 150 in the class of 2011 and is a major pickup for Mike Jarvis and Co.

- Thomasville (GA) standout Willie Clayton popped for the Charlotte 49ers, per David Scott of The Gold Mine. Clayton is an athletic 6'8 power forward with nice upside.

- Towson landed two impact recruits in the past several days, as Pat Skerry continues to pickup talented players for the CAA program. First it was 6'3 point guard Jerome Hairston of Christ School (NC) who pledged to the Tigers, per Jay Watford of Hoops Scouting Report. Today, Adam Finkelstein of the New England Recruiting Report had the news that 6'7 small forward Timajh Parker-Rivera of St. Joseph's (CT) was off the board to the Tigers as well.

- Eron Harris, a 6'3 shooting guard, pledged to West Virginia, selecting the Mountaineers over Dayton. Kyle Neddenriep of IndyStar.com had the news of the commitment from the Lawrence North (IN) standout.

- Another 6'3 shooting guard, Jelon Hornbeak of Grace Prep (TX), also made his decision recently. According to Sam Duren of OKHoops.com, he selected the Oklahoma Sooners as his future college program.

- A source informed Northstar Basketball that Duquesne had landed a verbal commitment from 6'9 power forward Donovon Jack. The Berks Catholic (PA) star had some high-major interest and numerous Atlantic-10 schools were in the mix.

- According to Scout.com's Evan Daniels, Texas added to its 2012 recruiting class by landing Connor Lammert of Churchill (TX). Lammert is a versatile 6'9 power forward.

- Rivals.com's Jerry Meyer had the news that 6'5 shooting guard Jeffery Moss pledged to Murray State. Moss, who attends Bob Jones (AL), is a nice pickup for the Racers.

- JucoRecruiting.com reported that TCU picked up a pledge from Reggie Murphy, a 6'9 center. The Westchester (CA) graduate is currently at Antelope Valley CC (CA).

- A one-time Fordham commitment, 6'8 power forward Amadou Sidibe of Cardinal Hayes (NY) is once again off the board. According to Zach Braziller, the big man is now bound for Fairfield.

- Ball State landed a player with nice upside, garnering a commitment from 6'11 center Mading Thok of Sioux City East (IA). The news came from Scout.com's Brian Snow.

- A source told Northstar Basketball that UL-Lafayette picked up a quality in-state prospect in Cleveland "Pancake" Thomas, a 6'3 shooting guard out of Scotlandville (LA).
