Talented 2013 Trio Discuss Recruitment

James Young, Moses Kingsley and Jordan Bell are already fairly well-known despite having yet to even begin their junior years of high school. Young was ranked #43 in the Northstar Basketball Pre-July 2013 Top 50, while Kinglsey was at the prestigious LeBron James Skills Academy and Bell is regarded as one of the top rising juniors in California.

All three players were were in North Augusta, S.C. for the Nike Peach Jam/EYBL Finals. Young was there were The Family's U16 squad, while Kingsley was with the U17 Arkansas Wings and Jordan Bell ran with the California Supreme U16 team.

James Young, a 6'5 small forward out of Troy (MI), told Northstar Basketball that he is hearing from Kentucky, Michigan State, Ohio State, Louisville, and Georgia Tech. Surprisingly, Young said he did not think he had any scholarship offers.

"I like Kentucky a lot and Michigan State and Ohio State," said Young, who has yet to take any unofficial visits.

"Yeah, hopefully Kentucky, Michigan State, Ohio State . . . and Louisville," Young said of who he would like to visit. He has yet to schedule any trips, though.

On who is recruiting him the hardest, Young remarked, "Michigan State is showing me a lot of love and Ohio State called me a couple times."

Young, who said location will "not at all" be a factor in a decision, noted that he grew up rooting for Michigan State and Kentucky.

If both MSU and UK were to offer, how tough of a decision would that be for him? "Yeah, it would be really tough," Young said. "Yeah, I don't know, that would be real tough."

Moses Kingsley, a 6'9 center out of New Albany (MS), said that Tennessee is the only scholarship offer he knows of right now, but said there could be others. He is also hearing from Ole Miss, Mississippi State, Memphis, Tulane, Arkansas, Louisville, Florida, and one other school.

Kingsley said that there are five schools in particular coming after him the hardest, mentioning Mississippi State, Ole Miss, Memphis, Tennessee, and Arkansas. He said he has no favorites at this point.

Originally from Nigeria, Kingsley said that he came over to the United States back in August of 2010.

Jordan Bell, a 6'7 power forward out of Long Beach Poly (CA), said he has a top six of Arizona, USC, UCLA, Texas, Washington, and Oregon. He said he is also hearing from Colorado, Missouri and a number of other Pac-12 programs.

Like Young, Bell surprisingly said he has no scholarship offers at this point. However, he did specifically say that a coach from Texas told his AAU coach that the Longhorns like him.

Bell has yet to take any college visits and does not have trips scheduled at this point. He said that Arizona, Colorado, UCLA, and USC are the schools that are coming after him the hardest as of now.
