Peach Jam Evals: New Yorkers

by Alex Schwartz

Only two teams from the state of New York were at the 2011 Nike Peach Jam. At the U17 level, the Empire State was represented by the Albany City Rocks, while it was the Metro Hawks in the U16 division.

NYChoops.net had the chance to see both teams in action and put together some evaluations of players' performances.

The City Rocks feature a number of players from outside New York, but two of their main men do hail from in-state. In fact, 2012 standouts DaJuan Coleman and Tyler Cavanaugh are teammates at Jamesville-DeWitt High School.

Coleman, one of the top players in the nation, is a 6-foot-9 center capable of dominating a game. Although he was not at his absolute best at Peach Jam due to an ankle injury, the upstate big man was still quite good.
