2013 Prospect: Mike Young

by Alex Schwartz

Standing nearly 6-foot-9 and tipping the scales at 220 pounds, Mike Young looks the part of a basketball player. Add in the fact that he has an impressive skill set and merely going into his junior year of high school, and it is easy to see why Young already claims five high-major scholarship offers.

Hailing from the Pittsburgh, Penn. area, Young runs with the New Jersey Playaz U16 squad, which was in the Rumble in the Bronx this past weekend. While there, he took the time to speak with VUSports.com about his game and his recruitment.

Young said he holds offers from UConn, Pitt, Rutgers, Seton Hall, and Georgia Tech to go along with interest from Wake Forest, Kansas, Villanova, Temple, and Georgetown. Although he does not have a top two or three, several schools are standing out to Young.

"I'm really liking the Big East, so probably all my Big East schools and then Kansas, I really like Kansas," Young said of his favorites.
