NJABC Update from Spring Jam Fest
by Alex Schwartz
Although maybe not known as well by the public as some other AAU programs in the state of New Jersey, there is no doubting that college coaches know all about Team NJABC. In the past three classes, NJABC has sent four players to the CAA as well as many others to DI schools.
There are some talented players in the NJABC program right now, and Recruit Recon had a chance to see the U17 squad play last Saturday at the Hoop Group Spring Jam Fest Phase II. After the game, coach Matt Pauls provided recruiting updates on a number of his players.
Charles Cooke, a 6-foot-5 class of 2012 small forward out of Trenton Catholic (NJ), is receiving a wide range of interest. Delaware, which signed TCA’s Khalid Lewis in the class of 2011, is the lone school to extend an offer at this point. However, Pauls noted that VCU is heavily involved as well.
In addition to those programs, Rider, Wagner, Quinnipiac, and Towson are all interested in Cooke. Villanova is another program that has reached out regarding the rising senior.
To read the rest of this article—it includes lists for Cooke, Eric Fanning '12, Ramon Johnson '12, Ron Paden '12, and Montana Mayfield '13—I wrote for Recruit Recon, just go to the main page of the website.
