Jordan Brand Classic All-American Game Selections
by Alex Schwartz
The rosters for the 2011
Jordan Brand Classic were announced today. There were 22 players selected to the game, which will take place on April 16 in Charlotte. For the first nine years of the game's history it was held at Madison Square Garden in New York City.
Unlike the McDonald's All-American Game (see rosters Here and analysis Here), the Jordan Brand Classic does take players who are in their fifth year of high school. In addition, the Jordan Classic does not require players to have participated in 50% of their team's games, meaning that injured players are eligible.
Below are the rosters for the 2011 Jordan Brand Classic. I have also included some notes on the rosters at the bottom of the post.

Notes
- The positional breakdown is as follows: six shooting guards, six small forwards, five power forwards, four point guards, and one center.
- There is no one in the game shorter than 6-foot or taller than 6'10.
- There are no high schools with multiple representatives.
- There are 17 states represented in the game, based off where players attend high school: California, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Massachusetts, Mississippi, Missouri, New Jersey, Nevada, North Carolina, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Tennessee, and Washington
- Four states are sending more than one player to the game: Georgia, Missouri, and North Carolina each have two representatives, while Virginia has the most with three.
- There is only one player in the game who remains uncommitted.
- The 21 committed players represent 15 different colleges: Baylor, Duke, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, LSU, Memphis, North Carolina, Ohio State, Oregon, Pitt, St. John's, Syracuse, Texas, and Washington.
- Four colleges have more than one committed player in the game: Duke, North Carolina, and Syracuse all have two, while Kentucky leads the way with four.
- Seven conferences are represented by the 21 committed players: ACC, Big East, Big Ten, Big 12, C-USA, Pac-10, and SEC.
- Five of the conferences have more than one player in the game headed its way: the Big 12 and Pac-10 each have two, the ACC and Big East each have four, and the SEC is tops with seven.
- Six players in the game were not selected to the McDonald's All-American Game: Jabari Brown, Michael Gbinije, Quincy Miller, Sir'Dominic Pointer, Otto Porter, and Tony Wroten, Jr.
- Sixteen players made both the McDonald's Game and the Jordan Classic: Brad Beal, Khem Birch, Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, Michael Carter-Williams, Rakeem Christmas, Anthony Davis, Michael Gilchrist, PJ Hairston, Myck Kabongo, James McAdoo, Johnny O'Bryant, Austin Rivers, Shannon Scott, Marquis Teague, Adonis Thomas, and Kyle Wiltjer.
- There are eight players who made the McDonald's All-American Game, but did not make the Jordan Brand Classic: Chane Behanan, Wayne Blackshear, Quinn Cook, Branden Dawson, LeBryan Nash, Marshall Plumlee, Amir Williams, and Cody Zeller.
- The players who made neither game and have the best argument that they were snubbed are DeAndre Daniels (Jordan only), Nick Johnson, and BJ Young. Others with legitimate cases to have made one of the games include Adjehi Baru, Dorian Finney-Smith, D'Angelo Harrison, JaKarr Sampson, and Josiah Turner. In addition, Rodney Hood and Dezmine Wells are players who could make cases.
