National High School Top 25- 2/3/11

by Alex Schwartz

In the most recent rankings, there were six undefeated teams atop the list leading the charge towards a mythical national title. One week later, two of those teams now have a "1" in the loss column, each having dropped its first game of the year. With that, there now seems to be, barring surprises, four main teams racing for that mythical championship. There are a few others lurking behind them though, hoping to see some slip ups occur.

One team who will no longer be ranked by Northstar Basketball is Dr. Krop (FL). According to a report from the Miami Herald, the Lightning used an ineligible player for the majority of its season and will likely have to forfeit the wins from its season as well as be unable to play in the state tournament. Should the FHSAA determine that there will be no repercussions for the Dr. Krop team, then it will be reinserted into the rankings if it still deserving. In addition, keep in mind that all programs with fifth year seniors and post grads are not eligible to be ranked either.

Without further ado, have a look below at the newest installment of the top National High School Top 25, which has Montrose Christian (MD) making the largest jump for the second consecutive poll.
