Evaluation of Jevon Thomas

St. John's University currently has one verbal commitment in the high school class of 2012. That player is 5-foot-11 point guard Jevon Thomas of Our Savior New American (NY), the number 87 ranked player in the nation in the Rivals 150.
On Tuesday, RedStormReport.com had a chance to watch Thomas and his OSNA team play in the Prime Time/ESCIT at Trenton Catholic Academy (NJ). Although Thomas' team lost 60-49 to Westtown (PA), the future Johnny showed some nice flashes of his ability.
Thomas had an up and down game and was never able to get into a rhythm, but he displayed a number of the characteristics in his game that led to him being a future Big East player.
