Q. Miller Done for Season; Another 2012 School List
by Alex Schwartz
According to the Greensboro News & Record, one of the best high school basketball players in
the nation is out for the remainder of the season. Baylor-signee Quincy Miller '11 of Westchester Country Day (NC) has reportedly torn the ACL in his left knee and his prep career is finished.
Miller, a 6'9 small forward, is the #2 ranked player in the NBE Post-Summer Class of 2011 Top 150. This is his first year at Westchester Country Day after transferring over from Quality Education Academy (NC).
Due to this injury, Miller will almost certainly be ineligible to play in the 2011 McDonald's All-American Game. The rules for selection require a player to participate in at least 50% of his team's games. Miller will not be able to meet this requirement. Other players of late who would likely have been selected to the game and missed it due to injury include Delvon Roe (Michigan State) in 2008 and Daniel Orton (Kentucky, Orlando Magic) in 2009.
In some other news, I went to Princeton yesterday to see Hun School (NJ) host Trenton Catholic (NJ). Led by Brandon Taylor '12, TCA cruised to a 54-38 victory over fellow Mercer County area foe. After the game, I had a chance to catch up with one of the better juniors in the state for a school list. Have a look.
Ronny Paden '12, Trenton Catholic (NJ): Fordham, Siena, Temple, Rider, and St. Joseph's
Offers: None
Favorite: "Actually I do like Fordham," Paden said. "Been to a couple games, actually saw when they beat St. John's. I got another year of AAU [to generate more interest]."
Note- Paden said that he wants to make collegiate decision by the start of his senior school year.
