Conference Recruiting Breakdown: 6. Pac-10

by Alex Schwartz

For the past couple of years, the Pac-10 has been considered extremely weak in hoops. Well, this incoming class of 2011 will not do much to change that, as there is even a huge gap between the Pac-10's commits and those going to the fifth ranked Big 12. In addition, the SEC is number one in the conference rankings despite not being a traditional BCS hoops conference.

There are more players in the just the top 50 of the NBE Post-Summer Class of 2011 Top 150 headed to the second ranked conference, the Big East, than there are in the full 150 bound for the Pac-10. One school has a third of the Pac-10's 2011 commits and is the only one ranked in the Post-Early Signing Period Top 25 Classes. Meanwhile, the other five BCS conferences have at least two teams in the top 12 of the rankings.

Conferences such as the ACC (ranked third) and the Big Ten (ranked fourth) will continue to stay above the Pac-10 if the talent level does not drastically increase. Nonetheless, there are a few to-notch players heading to the conference and here is the full Pac-10 2011 recruiting breakdown.
