Will Sampson Follow LeBron to Miami?

by Alex Schwartz

Miami Heat fans are obviously overjoyed by the team’s recent signing of NBA superstar LeBron James.

One player who has been, and will continue to be linked to James wherever the he may be is JaKarr Sampson '11.

The 6-foot-8, 195-pound forward attends the same high school that LeBron graduated from, St. Vincent-St. Mary (OH), and plays for an AAU team called King James Shooting Stars.

“It’s big, you always got a target on your back,” Sampson said. “People always compare you to him because you play the same position.”

Sampson has been out in Orlando with his squad for the AAU Super Showcase and AAU Nationals and took the time to update InsideTheU.com on the status of his recruitment, where things stand with Miami, and just how big of a factor LeBron James is.

An elite rising senior, Sampson has offers from Miami, Tennessee, Michigan State, Ohio State, Baylor, St. John’s, Louisville, Kansas, Cincinnati, Dayton, and USC. Kansas has just recently gotten involved with the versatile Buckeye State star.
