NYC Summer Classic School Lists
On the last day of the 2010 July Live Evaluation Period, I made my way to Fordham University for the NYC Summer Classic, a one day event with 40 teams presented by New Heights. While it primarily featured team
s from New Jersey and New York, squads from states such as Pennsylvania and Massachusetts also came out for the tournament.Rick Pitino (Louisville), Mick Cronin (Cincinnati), Mike Rice (Rutgers), Kevin Willard (Seton Hall), Keno Davis (Providence), John Giannini (La Salle), and Pat Chambers (Boston University) were amongst the head coaches there. In addition, schools such as Syracuse, Florida, Virginia Tech, Xavier, Villanova, St. John's, Iowa, Pitt, Iowa State, Marquette, and many more were in attendance too. There were numerous talented players on display, ranging from the Division III level up to the high-major Division I level.
I had a chance to speak with a number of players while at the event, including prospects in the classes of 2011, 2012, and 2013. Have a look at the school lists I collected below.
