AAU Super Showcase Rundown- 23rd and 24th

by Alex Schwartz

The AAU Super Showcase kicked off on Thursday at the ESPN Wide World of Sports with U15 play. Flagrant Fouls arrived on Friday in time to see the conclusion of the U15 age group and the start of U16 play. On Saturday the U16 playoffs rolled along and the U17 level finally got underway and more Division I coaches made their way out to Orlando for the action. With so many coaches on hand, there was ample opportunity for players to showcase their skills and earn scholarship offers. Numerous players turned in big-time performances on Friday and Saturday in front of the coaches.

Top Performers

DaJuan Coleman, 2012, C, 6’9, Jamesville-DeWitt (NY), Albany City Rocks-
In a triple overtime victory over Team United, Coleman was the best player on the floor for much of the game. One of the best rising juniors in the country, Coleman finished tied for the game high in scoring with 28 points. He took nearly 20 free throws, though he did not shoot a god percentage at the stripe. Coleman is a massive post player who is nearly impossible to guard and gave an older, taller, high-major recruit some real fits. Coleman fell off a bit as the game wore on, but he was outstanding nonetheless.
