Is Hinds in a NY State of Mind?

by Alex Schwartz

It is not always easy to keep top talent in state, just ask ex-St. John's Head Coach Norm Roberts. Jabarie Hinds '11 of Mount Vernon (NY) is one player that could be tough to keep in the Empire State.

A 6'0 point, Hinds listed offers from Oklahoma State, Louisville, UNLV, Wake Forest, Virginia, Miami, Florida State, and St. John's while at the LeBron James Skills Academy. Villanova, West Virginia, and Oklahoma are other programs he says are showing interest.

Hinds has no favorites at this point, but did mention that Villanova, Oklahoma State, and Wake Forest meet the criteria of what he is looking for in a school. He said the environment, academics, and style of play are amongst the main factors.

The talented floor general did concede that at one point he did have a favorite, Wake Forest. "When Coach [Dino] Gaudio was there, they were my top school. When I heard coach [was not going to be there anymore] stuff cleared up, but they are still up there."
