NBPA Top 100 Camp- Day Two School Lists & Top Scorers
My NBPA Top 100 Camp- Day One Rundown was quite brief, as games did not begin until the second day of the event, which was held at John Paul Jones Arena on the campus of the University of Virginia in Charlottesville. Thus, there was less time to
speak with players. At 10:45am on day two, things truly got going as the games got underway. The camp featured 108 players split into 10 teams, each with the name of an NBA franchise. On both day two and three all the squads played two games, leading up to the playoffs on the final day. The second and third days also featured skill development, practices, and different types of education lessons for the players from current and former NBA players.
On the second day of camp, I was able to see seven of the 10 teams play, including one of them twice. During the course of the course of the day I spoke with a number of players and was also able to evaluate some of the top players in the nation. Have a look at my second rundown of the 2010 NBPA Top 100 Camp. Note that the player evaluations will be coming in separate post after all the school lists have been posted.

Adams, who listed Memphis, Mississippi State, Clemson, and Alabama ashis other finalists, discussed how he decided on Duke. “Well my mainthing was that Duke came at me real hard,” Adams said. “I developed agood relationship with Coach [Nate] James. A program like Duke is hardto turn down, so I made my commitment.”
The 6’9 center might bedoing some recruiting of his own to help Duke out. “A little bit. Dukeis trying to recruit Amir Williams. I haven’t had a chance to talk toAustin Rivers. Duke doesn’t have a lot of scholarships because MichaelGbinije [and I are already committed]. I talk to Amir, I know him realwell,” Adams said.
One of the better big men in the class of 2011,Adams compares his game to Tim Duncan. Adams talked about what it waslike to watch Duke’s run to a national championship, even though he wasstill on the board at that point.
“It was pretty good. Before Icommitted they were showing a lot of interest. Before they won, I knewI was probably gonna go there, so it was good,” Adams explained.

“Well, just the relationship I built with Coach [John] Pelphrey and thestaff,” said Mickelson on how he picked Arkansas. “I felt I’d becomfortable being in my homes state. I felt I’d be able to reach myfull potential playing up there.”
Mickelson is the second playerfrom his AAU team, Arkansas Wings Elite, to commit to Arkansas, alongwith Aaron Ross ’11, who popped as a freshman. Another teammate, Rashad“Ky” Madden ’11 is also seriously considering the Razorbacks, andMickelson talked about whether he and Ross are in Madden’s ear.
“No, not really. Usually with us, since we’ve been on the team forthree, we know it’s our decisions. We joke about it a little bit, nothing too serious,” explained Mickelson. Does the 6’10 big man knowwhich way Madden is leaning? “Not really. [We are] trying to see whathe wants to do. I’ve asked who he’s interested in. He said he doesn’tknow,” Mickelson said.
Although he is committed to Arkansas and isfrom the state, Mickelson was not exactly a Razorbacks fan growing up.“In college basketball I didn’t have a favorite team. I liked watchinggames,” he explained. “I didn’t have a favorite team, but there waskinda this feeling of loyalty and Arkansas has grown on me as a team Iwanna play for.”
