Ross and Sullivan Talk Maryland and More

by Alex Schwartz

When the Magic and the Lakers met in the night session of NBPA Top 100 Camp on Thursday, there were a number of Maryland prospects on the floor, including LaQuinton Ross and Bernard Sullivan. Ross, from Life Center Academy (NJ), and Sullivan, out of Davidson Country Day (NC), both spoke with TurtleSportsReport.com about the current status of their recruitment.

Ross, a 6’8, 220-pound small forward, listed Ohio State,
West Virginia, Baylor, UConn, Syracuse, Georgetown, Rutgers, Maryland, Mississippi State, Ole Miss, Tennessee, and Villanova as the schools involved in his recruitment. Ross also said that each and every one of those schools has offered and that other schools are recruiting him too.

“Not really. It doesn’t matter what conference I’m in,” said Ross, who is from Mississippi, when asked if location will play a part in his choice.

Does the long, athletic wing have any leaders at this stage of the process? “Not really, I’m wide open right now,” Ross said.

As for when he plans to make his college choice, Ross remarked, “I’m probably gonna narrow it down a top five at the end of the summer [and then commit in] December or January. I’m probably gonna c
ommit at the Hall of Fame game in Massachusetts.”
