2011 Trio Listing Memphis
Just because Memphis’ main target in the class of 2011, Adonis Thomas, was not at NBPA Top 100 Camp, does not mean there were not a multitude of Tiger prospects in attendance. Three of them, Anthony Davis, Rashad “Ky” Madden, and Cedrick McAfee, took the time to update Memphis Roar on the status of their recruitment and provide their thoughts on the Tigers.
Anthony Davis, a 6’9, 190-pound forward out of Perspectives Charter (IL), has been the spring’s biggest stock booster, and it isn’t even close. Davis entered the spring as an unknown and leaves it as arguably a top 10 recruit. He averaged 11.7 points per game, good for 10th overall, at NBPA Camp, helping lead his team to the championship game and garnering Most Outstanding Prospect honors.
Davis lists offers from Syracuse, Ohio State, Kansas, Kansas State, Memphis, and Louisville as well as interest from Duke and North Carolina. Asked when he plans to make his choice, Davis replied, “At the end of July.”
“I like Ohio State a lot,” said Davis of who his favorite is. Why is that? “I went down to the visit [and the] campus was wonderful. [OSU has a] great campus and great facilities. It was wonderful.”
