Hubert and Jefferson Have VU Offers

by Alex Schwartz

One thing that many college coaches, scouts, and even fans now look for in players and recruits in length. That is a trait that is possessed by two of the main Villanova targets that were at the NBPA Top 100 Camp, Desmond Hubert '11 and Amile Jefferson '12.

Hubert and Jefferson were both in the top half of the measurements for height, wingspan, and reach as well as in the bottom half of the camp for weight. They both took the time to discuss the status of their recruitment as well as where things stand with Villanova.

Hubert, a 6'9, 195-pounder from New Egypt (NJ), is ranked as the number 60 prospect in the class of 2011 by Rivals. He lists offers from Villanova, Pitt, Maryland, UConn, Wake Forest, Ohio State, Georgia Tech, Virginia Tech, and Virginia to go along with interest from Georgetown, Duke, and North Carolina.

Hubert noted that Villanova, Maryland, Virginia Tech, and Virginia are the four schools that are recruiting him the hardest of the bunch.
