Sterling Gibbs, a 6’2, 180-pound point guard, committed to Gary Williams and Co. on April 26th. He remains a firm commitment to the Terrapins a month and a half later. “It’s solid. I love the school. I couldn’t see myself playing anywhere else,” Gibbs said.
Asked if other schools are still trying to recruit him or if they are respecting his pledge, Gibbs replied, “They are respecting me because they realize I took my time. It wasn’t just a decision to commit.”
Gibbs, who plays AAU with the New York Panthers, is in the process of working some other class of 2011 Maryland targets to join him in College Park.
