Terps Looking West for Brown

by Alex Schwartz

Despite the fact that he is from all the way across the country, Maryland is in hot pursuit of Jabari Brown '11. The 6'4, 200-pound shooting guard from Oakland Senior (CA) is being recruited by numerous programs out west, plus Maryland.

Cal, Stanford, Washington, Maryland, Arizona State, Arizona, Oregon State, Texas A&M, San Jose State, St. Mary's, and UNLV are the schools recruiting Brown. The Golden State standout lists offers from Cal, Arizona State, Washington, San Jose State, St. Mary's, and UNLV along with the old Wake Forest staff.

Asked when he plans to make his decision, Brown replied, “Whenever the time is right. It could be some time during the summer, or during the first signing period this fall, so we'll just see.”

Though location is “not a factor” for Brown, he does know what he wants in a school. “Playing style, coaching, winning tradition, and somewhere where I can get to the next level, have a chance to go to the next level.”
