Prime Time Shootout Live Running Blog- Friday, February 12

I'll be posting a live blog right here throughout the evening on what is going on at Kean University for the Prime Time Shootout. In addition, I'll be posting some information via Twitter.
7:07pm- Ridge beat Monroe 79-59 in the first game. Tom Gambino '11 was named MVP for Ridge with 16 points, while Timmy Brix '10 was the honoree for Monroe, scoring 14 points. Bowdoin-commit Andrew Madlinger '10 also had 16 for Ridge.
7:09pm- Texas-bound Myck Kabongo '11 had three assists in the first 3:12 of this game, and the Gray Bees' first four buckets were all threes. It's 18-4 St. Benedict's over Lakewood early.
7:15pm- St. Benedict's leads Lakewood 21-6 through one quarter. Temple-signee Aaron Brown '10 leads all scorers with 7 points.
7:37pm- St. Ben's up 38-22 at the half. Kabongo has 12 points, 4 steals, 4 assists, and 4 rebounds. He leads all scorers, while Jarrod Davis '11 is tops for Lakewood with 9.
7:52pm- The Gray Bees are putting on an absolute show, getting steal after steal on D, while getting a number of dunks. Kabongo nearing a triple-double, with 9 assists and 6 steals right now.
7:57pm- It's 68-29 through three quarters.
8:52pm- St. Benedict's defeated Lakewood by a final score of 82-38. Myck Kabongo, unofficially, finished with 20 points, 10 assists, and 6 steals en route to MVP honors. Aaron Brown also had 20 points for the Gray Bees. Jarrod Davis was the higher scorer for Lakewood with 15 points, garnering him MVP honors.
8:55pm- I talked with Jarrod Davis, Gilvydas Biruta, and Xavier Munford after the game. The St. Patrick's/Oak Hill Academy game is set to start in less than 10 minutes.
9:19pm- Tied at 12 at the first TV timeout. This is a very intense and fast-paced game.
9:30pm- Oak Hill is up 17-14 through eight minutes of play. Maryland-bound Pe'Shon Howard '10 leads all scorers with eight, while Duke-signee Kyrie Irving '10 is tops for St. Pat's with seven.
9:38pm- Oak Hill is up 30-26 at the second quarter TV timeout. Howard has 13 points and is 3/4 beyond the arc. Irving has 15 points and is 2/4 on threes.
9:51pm- It is halftime and Oak Hill holds a 39-34 lead behind the play of its guards, Pe'Shon Howard (13 points), Doron Lamb '10 (9 points), and Dayton-signee Juwan Staten '10 (6 points). Irving has 15 for St. Pat's, while Michael Gilchrist '11 has 11 points and is 7/8 from the stripe.
10:12pm- Oak Hill leads 47-46 at the third quarter TV timeout. Michael Gilchrist is having his way in the paint.
10:20pm- Michael Gilchrist and UMBC-signee Chase Plummer '10 have taken over this game, dominating in the paint for the Celtics.
10:24pm- With 24 minutes down and eight to go, it's Oak Hill ahead by a score of 62-60. Doron Lamb, UConn-bound Roscoe Smith '10, Chase Plummer, and Michael Gilchrist all had great quarters.
10:36pm- The Warriors are up 71-66 with 3:55 to play. Roscoe Smith has been great in the second half and is a big reason why OHA has the lead.
11:54pm- Oak Hill Academy won the game by a score of 79-78. Doron Lamb hit the second of two free throws with just under 10 seconds left and at the other end, Western Kentucky-bound Derrick Gordon '11 was fouled on a drive with 0.4 left and missed both free throws. The Celtics have three losses this year and they have all been by one point.
11:57pm- After the game I spoke with Doron Lamb and Kyrie Irving. There is some fairly big news that Lamb cleared up that you can find out about at NBE Basketball Report.
12:01am- Plainfield leads St. Joseph's Metuchen 31-25 at the start of the second half. Tyrone Johnson '11, Plainfield's star, leads all scorers with 13.
12:17am- Three quarters down, one to go, and Plainfield holds a 42-34 lead. Johnson has 18 for the Cardinals.
12:28am- Plainfield is up 54-44 with 4:20 to play. Johnson has 27 points.
12:41am- This one is in the books. Plainfield has a 62-49 victory in the nightcap. Tyrone Johnson had 31, to lead all scorers in the four games this evening. Penn-bound Steve Rennard '10 had 12 for the Falcons in defeat.
2:16am- I caught up with Tyrone Johnson after the game. I will be at all seven games today, the first of which is at noon. Stay tuned!
