Bell Doing Big Things

by Alex Schwartz

James Bell '10, a 6'5 small forward, was the first member of Villanova's class of 2010. As a senior at Montverde Academy (FL), Bell is showing just why Jay Wright and Co. wanted him. Bell is averaging around 17 points per game for his 20-4 squad, which is coming off of a huge win.

On Saturday night, the Eagles defeated Findlay Prep (NV), one of the nation's top three teams, in the championship of the Montverde Academy Invitational Tournament, 54-51. "It was big for us, for our program, for us as a team, for this season. Pretty much, everything we've been practicing for this season, paid off. We got what we wanted; we had a tough road to get to the championship. We had Montrose and then we had Findlay in the championship. It's just rewarding us for our hard work," said Bell.
