Early Signing Period Day Two Updates
by Alex Schwartz
Although I provided many signing updates from the first day of the early signing period, there is still much more news. This is one of the busiest times of the year in the basketball recruiting world and right here will be the second "running blog" of signing period updates. Check it out:
- I spoke with Duke-commit Kyrie Irving of St. Patrick's (NJ) a little before 6:00pm and he informed me that he has yet to officially ink with the Blue Devils, but fan of the ACC school need not worry. The point guard will be signing this week and said it will likely be tonight actually.
- I have confirmation that Luke Cothron is not signing with North Carolina State in the early period. The Wolpack have inked Ryan Harrow and Lorenzo Brown though.
- As of now it seems that Iona will not be signing anyone in November.
- Duke-bound Tyler Thornton informed me that he would be "signing today at school" as expected.
- Ryan Pierson has joined Alex Bates in Northeastern's recruiting class.
- Akron inked Dakotah Euton yesterday, who was committed to Kentucky at one point.
- Will Regan of Nichols School (NY) signed with Virginia yesterday.
-In addition to signing Pat Moore, Colgate has also picked up Chad Johnson.
- Davidson has officially landed a nice three-man recruiting class of Tom Droney, Jordan Downing, and Chris Czerapowicz of Sweden.
- Frankford (PA) big man Shaq Duncan has made it official for Niagara.
- UTEP has inked four players in John Bohannon, Darrious Curry, Jamison Sterns, and Matt Korcheck.
- Vanderbilt fans can breathe a sigh of relief, as the Commodores have officially signed Rod Odom, a huge get for Kevin Stallings and Co.
- Virginia Commonwealth has added Rob Brandenberg and Reco McCarter to the program.
- Raphael Akpejiori is signed, sealed, and delivered for Miami, joining Rion Brown in the Hurricanes' class.
- Derrick Williams of St. Anthony's (NJ) had originally told me he would not be signing early with Richmond, but that is no longer the case. The big man informed me that he is "signing today" with the Atlantic-10 school.
