- According to a source close to the situation, Melsahn Basabe '10 of St. Mark's (MA) and Frantz Massenat '10 of Trenton Catholic (NJ) will both be taking their official visits to Drexel this upcoming weekend. Basabe is said to be down to Virginia Commonwealth and Siena along with Drexel, while Massenat has already pledged to the Dragons. Both players were Top 20 All-Stars at Hoop Group Elite Camp Session One, with Basabe being named Most Outstanding Player.
- Just 26 players ranked amongst Northstar Basketball's Class of 2010 Terrific 125 are still on the board (not including Shaq Thomas who is now in the class of 2011). This includes five players in the top nine and 17 in the top 35.
- Here are some commitment updates, according to multiple reports: Dwight Powell '10 of IMG Academy (FL) to Stanford, Vander Blue '10 of Memorial (WI) to Marquette, Malcolm Lemmons '10 of Gonzaga (DC) to Robert Morris, Dashaun Wiggins '11 of Bridgton Academy (ME) to Seton Hall. Powell is ranked #38 in the class of 2010 by Northstar Basketball and Blue checks in at #44.
- This year's roster for the Eddie Griffin Challenge has been released on NJHoops. The event pits the best of the Philadelphia area against the best in New Jersey, and there are three games, one for each the sophomore, junior, and senior classes. Some of the stars in this year's affair include Amile Jefferson '12, Kyle Anderson '12, Michael Gilchrist '11, Pitt-commit John Johnson '11, Malcolm Gilbert '11, Texas-pledge Myck Kabongo '11, Sterling Gibbs '11, Desmond Hubert '11, Kyrie Irving '10, Devon Collier '10, Seton Hall-bound Fuquan Edwin '10, Syracuse-commit Dion Waiters '10, Virginia Tech-pledge Tyrone Garland '10, Wake Forest-bound Tony Chennault '10, and St. Joseph's-commit CJ Aiken '10.
