Hector Harold to Pepperdine; Shane Southwell to Kansas State

by Alex Schwartz

Hector Harold '10 of Northfield Mt. Hermon (MA) is off the board and has decided to return close to home. According to NMH Head Coach John Carroll, the 6'7 combo forward committed to Pepperdine this morning. Harold, who is from Pasadena, California, selected the Waves over George Washington, Hawaii, Colorado, and Utah. He also had interest from a handful of high-major programs that wanted to track him during the season. Harold felt like he wanted to head back West for his college ball, and also liked the West Coast Conference, according to Coach Carroll, who also informed me that Laurent Rivard '10 will be taking an official visit to Georgia Tech this upcoming weekend.

Multiple sites have reported that 6'6 Shane Southwell '10 of Rice (NY) has popped for Kansas State. Southwell, who was a Top 20 All-Star at Hoop Group Elite Camp Session One this summer, will be heading from the Big Apple to the Little Apple. The Wildcats are getting a versatile player who can play any spot from the 1 through the 3 and is a very good passer, especially for a player his size. Southwell joins Will Spradling in KSU's class of 2010.
