Casey Prather to Florida; Khyle Marshall to Butler

by Alex Schwartz

Scout is reporting that 6'5 small forward Casey Prather '10 of North Side (TN) has committed to Florida. Prather selected Florida over Michigan, and had previously considered Clemson and Vanderbilt, as well as Memphis at one point. Prather, who was outstanding at NBAPA Top 100 Camp, is the second member of the Gators' class of 2010, joining 6'8 power forward Patric Young of Providence School (FL). Both players are ranked in the top 20 of Northstar Basketball's Class of 2010 Terrific 125, with Young coming in at #16 and Prather sitting at #20. If Billy Donovan can land a top-tier point guard, this class would probably be in the top three or four nationally. Ray McCallum is the main PG target for the SEC school.

I received a phone call this morning from Alberto Jempierre, the high school and AAU coach of Khyle Marshall '10 of Flanagan (FL). Coach Jempierre informed me that Marshall, a 6'5 wing, committed to Butler on Monday night, selecting the Bulldogs over Old Dominion and UAB. The Sunshine State standout burst onto the scene in the summer of 2008 at Hoop Group Elite Camp, and has built his reputation up since then. Marshall is ranked #85 in Northstar Basketball's Class of 2010 Terrific 125 and is a fantastic coup for Brad Stevens and Co. He is the third player on the list to commit to a non-BCS school outside of the Atlantic-10 not named Memphis. Florida International has a pledge from #54 Dominique Ferguson and Drake has #123 Rayvonte Rice in the fold.

Once again, Casey Prather has committed to Florida and Khyle Marshall has popped to Butler
