Roseboro to St. Bonaventure; Panzer Picks UPenn; Murphy to PG

by Alex Schwartz

- According to two sources, including Quakertown (PA) Assistant Coach Toomey Anderson, Brett Roseboro '09 has committed to St. Bonaventure. Northstar Basketball recently broke the news that he was leaving Marquette. Coach Anderson informed me that Roseboro will be there, adding, "They are building something strong out there." Anderson went on to state, "He basically narrowed his [choices] down to schools from his [list] last summer [and] . . . he always had a great relationship with [Assistant Coach] Dino [Presley], so he choice was pretty easy. He wasn't really interested in any other school. He's extremely excited about what he considers new blessings." Siena, Temple, Central Connecticut State, UMBC, and Penn State were the others on that list from last summer according to Anderson, but he told me, "There wasn't much deliberation." The coach also let me know that Brett should be on campus this upcoming weekend, and also that he expects the power forward to be eligible to play this season.

- Kevin Panzer '10, a 6'9 power forward from Capistrano Valley (CA) has decided to come across the country and attend UPenn for his college ball. He joins 6'1 combo guard Steve Rennard of St. Joseph's Metuchen (NJ) in the Quakers' class of rising seniors.

- I just got in contact with 6'7 combo forward Khalil Murphy, and he is now a part of the class of 2010 and is headed to Fishburne Military School (VA) for a post-grad year. One of Murphy's reasons for picking the school was that "the coach is a former DI assistant, so he knows his stuff." Khalil has a nice list of colleges pursuing him. "I have Western Kentucky, San Fransisco, St. Mary's, New Orleans, and a few schools from the MAAC, C-USA, and A-10, but I'm sure once I get back into top shape again, a lot more will be back."
