MAJOR NEWS!!! Brett Roseboro Leaving Marquette

by Alex Schwartz

In news that was first reported by Northstar Basketball via Twitter (NorthstarBball), Brett Roseboro '09 from Quakertown (PA) is leaving Marquette, according to Toomey Anderson, an assistant coach at Quakertown who is close with the player. The big face-up 4 was on campus at the Big East school this sumer and was part of a seven man recruiting class, but had a falling out with the coaching staff. As of now Roseboro has not gotten his release from the Golden Eagles since "all this happened yesterday," but that will be "taken care of Monday," stated Anderson. When asked if he felt Brett, who came on strong during his senior year, would get his release, the answer was a resounding yes. "Without question. They don't want him. They said, 'you're not going to play here.' . . . Brett's not going to get minutes at Marquette."
According to Anderson, Marquette Head Coach Buzz Williams has "not talked to Brett, me, or anyone else associated with him." Nevada, East Tennessee State, Drexel, Temple, Wright State, and St. Bonaventure on the new list for Roseboro, who has three official visits at his disposal. As of now it is unclear if Roseboro will be eligible to play elsewhere in 2009-10, and if he is not, he would either "pick a school and sit there for a year [or] . . . prep, [but] . . . college is the more likely destination. Prep is a possibility."
All of this news has come about so quickly, and I will try to keep you all up to date. Again, Brett Roseboro is leaving Marquette and his next destination is not yet set.
