Myles Davis Taking Visits

by Alex Schwartz

One of the nation's top sharpshooters has visited a trio of lucky schools recently. Myles Davis '11 of St. Peter's Prep (NJ), a 6'2 shooting guard, is considered amongst the Garden State's finest players in the state's loaded class of 2011. Davis recently told Northstar Basketball that he was being recruited by Wake Forest, Virginia, Virginia Tech, Ohio State, George Mason (offer), Marist, Pitt, Louisville, St. Joseph’s, and Penn State. Some of those schools are interested enough in Davis to have had him on campus for an unofficial visit. St. Joseph's, George Mason, and Virginia recently hosted Myles, and he took the visits in that order.
Regarding his first visit, to the most local of the three, A-10 power St. Joe's, Davis stated, "It was nice. It's a small school which I like. The campus is nice and basketball [comes] first there, which is good. Also, there is a lot of new stuff being built there to make it bigger." His trip to GMU, which currently is his lone offer, exceeded his expectations. "It was better than what I expected. It was big, but not too big. Everything there is new and it's really nice. It's what I always dream a college would look like." As for the lone high-major school Davis toured, he remarked the following about UVA: "Virginia was really big, but beautiful. [It has] great academics. I like it a lot."
Davis is not close to making his decision yet, and also wants to visit more schools. "If I could I would visit everybody, but I can't. I think in the summer [after] my junior year I will make my decision," commented the Playaz standout. What is he looking for in a school? "Somewhere where I feel wanted, where I can click with everyone there. I want a solid program that knows what it's doing. I also want to go somewhere [where] I am going to play. Most importantly, a place that's going to make me not only a better player, but a better person and a man."
Myles Davis has a bright future on the hardwood, and is a player whose recruitment I will certainly be updating here on Northstar Basketball.
