Summer in the City School Lists- Class of 2011 Part Two

by Alex Schwartz

Here is part four of the Summer in the City school lists that I collected. There will be one more installment of school lists as well as possibly a recap of the event. Also, my day five coverage from the AAU Super Showcase should be up soon, and I may post a recap of that event too!

Myles Davis ’11, St. Peter’s Prep (NJ), Playaz: Wake Forest, Virginia, Virginia Tech, Ohio State, George Mason, Marist, Pitt, Louisville, St. Joseph’s, and Penn State
                                 Offers: George Mason
                                 Favorites: None

Dave Appolon ’11, Imhotep Charter (PA), Team Philly: Marquette, St. Joseph’s, Temple, Towson, Delaware, Mount St. Mary’s, Virginia Commonwealth, and George Mason
Offers: Towson, Delaware, Mount St. Mary’s
Favorites: “I like Marquette and St. Joe’s. I like VCU [also].”
Note- Appolon has some other schools on his list that he could not think of.

Ramon Johnson ’11, Science Park (NJ), Sports University: Virginia Tech, Western Kentucky, Providence, Siena, Oklahoma State, South Carolina, Maine, St. John’s, Central Florida, and Cincinnati
Offers: Western Kentucky and South Carolina
Favorites: Virginia Tech and Providence, with Western Kentucky, Siena, and Oklahoma State—in no order—rounding out his top five
Notes- Johnson is unsure of what high school he will be at next year. “It’s between NIA [Prep in NJ] and going back to Science Park.” The big man said “it’s like a 65%” chance he leaves for NIA. As for the next level, Ramon stated, “I’m interested in going [to the] Big East or ACC.”

Vaughn Gray ’11, Don Bosco Prep (NJ), Playaz: Oklahoma State, Providence, Seton Hall, Rutgers, Temple, Rhode Island, St. Joseph’s, Villanova, Delaware, Manhattan, and USC
Offers: Providence, Seton Hall, Rutgers, St. Joseph’s, Delaware, and Manhattan
Favorite: “I kind of like Providence.”

Tyquan Goodlett ’11, St. Anthony’s (NJ), New Heights: Providence, St. John’s, George Mason, and Rutgers
                                          Offers: None
Favorites: “Right now, George Mason and Rutgers.”
Note- Asked how it feels to win the championship at a tournament co-hosted by the program he plays for, Goodlett remarked, “Oh it feels good, it feels good.”

Pete Aguilar ’11, Mount St. Michael (NY), Metro Hawks: Hofstra and St. John’s
                                  Offers: None
Favorites: “I’m just trying to weigh my options.”

Chandler Fraser-Pauls ’11, The Pennington School (NJ), Team NJABC: Brown, Cornell, Lafayette, UPenn, Niagara, Vermont, Davidson, Elon, Princeton, Lehigh, Amherst (DIII), Bucknell, American, Colgate, Rider, and Columbia
                                                Offers: None
                                                Favorites: None
Notes- Fraser-Pauls is also a solid soccer prospect, and the schools showing interest in that sport are Boston University, Villanova, Lafayette, Bucknell, Georgetown, Amherst (DIII), and Elon. Chandler, who has about a 3.4 GPA, is indeed considering DIII Amherst, as he could play both sports, “So it’s a good option.” Although that is the only school he has discussed playing two sports with, the point guard stated, “I plan on talking to some of the other schools about playing [both].”

Chris Gayot ’11, Cardozo (NY), New Heights: Hofstra, Albany, Niagara, Seton Hall, and Bucknell
                                Offers: None
Favorites: “All of them are good, [but the one that is] showing the most interest is Hofstra.”
Note- Regarding whether or not location will be a factor, Gayot stated, “I want to go out so I can explore more. I’d rather go out of state.”
