Pierre Hayden Nike Hoop Jamboree Player Diary- Entry #3
Day three was cool. We had class again. The first class was about staying
level headed and keeping your mind on the game and not the distractions
in this world like drugs, alcohol, etc. From there we went to another
and it was about staying humble and thinking outside the box. I learned
a lot in that class.
Later in the day we started off playing 3 on 3 again. All my boys from New York were watching my boy Kerwin Okoro and I go at it. My team won and I won the matchup as well. LOL. Big shout out to my boy Kerwin. Then we went straight to 5 on 5.
In our first game we lost again to Davontay Grace, Sidiki Johnson, Kamari Murphy, and Ashcraf Yacoubou's team. We were up 15, but I don't know what happened. Ashcraf was really doggin us! He had about 30, but I played good I had about 11 points and 4 assists. Then in our second game I really played well. We lost to Savon Goodman and Shannon Scott from Atlanta, Georgia's team. I hit five threes in that game. I finished with 18 in that loss.
In the last part of the day we played five three-minute half games. It was a tournament called March Madness. It was just one half for three minutes. We won three games, but that really wasn't interesting at all.
That night everyone just hung out together and Davontay Grace, Thaddeus Hall, Kerwin Okoro and many others were all dancing. We were showing each other the dances we do in our states. That was real funny. Sunday is the last day so I will make sure I leave the gym with my name buzzing!
