Monday evening I received some interesting information from a reliable source with knowledge of the situation on Kentucky-signee Eric Bledsoe '09 of Parker (AL), a 6'0 point guard. There has been some concern that Bledsoe, who picked the Wildcats over Memphis, will not meet NCAA Clearinghouse requirements and will not qualify to play NCAA DI ball next year.

The Yellowhammer State star, who had a fantastic senior season, had apparently decided to try to take two online courses in an attempt to become eligible. My source on the situation informed me that he had spoken to a person close to the player himself around the time he committed to UK. He learned—and informed me—that around that time, Eric was not staying at home with his mother (I do not know the reason), and that was where his books for the classes were. Thus, Bledsoe had not yet been working on these classes, which he was taking in order to qualify.

We'll see what ends up happening with Bledsoe, but this makes it seem as though him qualifying could be tough, though he may have hit the books since my source spoke to his source. I'll try to keep you posted on Bledsoe's situation in regards to him qualifying academically.
