News & Notes

- DeMarcus Cousins '09 of LeFlore (AL) is officially a Kentucky Wildcat, according to Rivals. Cousins, a 6'10 center who is one of the best players in America, had previously been committed to UAB and then Memphis, but had not signed with either. Now, he has inked with the SEC school, and Coach John Calipari has the makings of a big-time class in Lexington.
- I first saw on Scout that Victor Rudd '09, formerly of Findlay Prep (NV), has committed to and signed with Arizona State. The newest Sun Devil was one of the top uncommitted players in America.
- Kyryl Natyazhko '09 of IMG Academy (FL) picked Arizona recently, according to numerous reports. The European center was one of the top few uncommitted players in the nation.
- The Jordan Brand Classic is this weekend, and yours truly will be at Madison Square Garden for all three games, watching some of the top international players in action, followed by regional stars, and then the All-Americans in the nightcap. The McDonald's All-American Game was a great event to be at—coverage of that will be blended in with Jordan Classic info—and the Jordan Classic should be also. Check out the game on ESPN2 on Saturday night to watch some future NCAA and NBA stars.
- At this point it is really unclear when John Wall '09 of Word of God (NC), arguably the #1 player in the nation, will make his college choice. He has a pretty extensive list and hasn't taken all of his visits. This may well end up similar to the Tyreke Evans situation from last year.
