The sixth contest of the day is the lone girls' game of the 2009 Prime Time Shootout. The affair pits the Trenton Catholic (NJ) Lady Iron Mikes against the John F. Kennedy (NY) Lady Knights. Both teams have very good squads, and TCA is the two-time defending New Jersey Non-Public B state champion. This year's team is led by Briyana Canty '11, a big-time sophomore. JFK has good size, with two players standing 6'0 and one at 5'11. The game is already 11 minutes old, so I'll get you caught up.

6:50pm- Trenton Catholic is up 17-7 with 4:45 to go in the first half.

6:54pm- It's now 23-7 TCA after an Alvida Clemons '10 trey from the corner.

6:55pm- A couple of JFK free throws have made it 23-9 with about 2:30 to go in the half.

6:58pm- Jamiah Thompson '10 hit a three for TCA, and the Lady Iron Mikes are up 26-9 at halftime.

7:18pm- With 3:00 left in the third quarter, Trenton Catholic is up 33-17.

7:22pm- The clock is showing 1:30 to go in the third period of play, and TCA has a 35-20 lead.

7:23pm- Briyana Canty '11 connected on a three to make it 38-20.

7:25pm- With 24 minutes down and eight to go, the Lady Iron Mikes are ahead 38-20.

7:29pm- The Lady Knights of JFK are behind 42-25 with 6:15 to go in the game.

7:33pm- With 4:40 to play, the squad from New York has cut TCA's lead all the way down to 12 points, 44-32.

7:36pm- It's 46-32 Trenton Catholic with 3:17 to play.

7:41pm- The Lady Iron Mikes have a 52-32 lead with under a minute to play.

7:44pm- This one is over and Trenton Catholic has a 52-35 victory.

7:45pm- Briyana Canty of Trenton Catholic was named the game's lone MVP, scoring eight points.
