Vincent Council to Providence; Adam Johnson Favoring St. Francis (PA)

by Alex Schwartz

Scout
and ZagsBlog were the first places on which I saw that Vincent Council '09 of the Patterson School (NC) had verbally committed to Providence. The post-grad point guard was key to Lincoln (NY) last year, which finished ranked top five in the country. In late July at The Hoop Group Elite Camp, Council had told me he would "most likely" go to Kent State, but clearly that has changed. While at Patterson, Council has done a lot to boost his stock, and that led to him being able to go the high-major route. Council is part of a very nice recruiting class for PC first year head coach, Keno Davis. The class includes another point guard at a prep school power, Antoine Allen '09 of Notre Dame Prep (MA).

I caught up with Adam Johnson '09 of City College HS (MD) today and the athletic specimen informed me that he is "90%" sure that he will commit to St. Francis (PA). The gifted wing said via text message that he would likely commit around the end of January. I will keep you posted on Johnson and will let you know if and when this becomes official.
