Class of 2009 School Lists
I caught up with a handful of uncommitted class of 2009 players today to see where they stand in their recruitment. I will be posting their school lists in a series of two or three articles, starting with this one. I have already mentioned in a previous article that Adam Johnson '09 of City College HS (MD) informed me he is "90%" sure he will commit to St. Francis (PA). Here are a half dozen of the lists I collected today:
Jason West ’09, Florida Air Academy (FL): Ole Miss, South
Florida, Central Florida, North Florida, Stony Brook, Marist, Quinnipiac, UMBC,
Sam Houston State, Northeastern, James Madison, Oregon State, Wichita State,
and New Hampshire
Offers: “Nobody
[has offered], but [the] Northeastern, South Florida, Central Florida, Stony
Brook, Quinnipiac, and Sam Houston State head coaches are coming to see me real
soon.”
Favorites:
Sam Houston State, South Florida, and Central Florida
Collin Johnson ’09, Timber Creek (NJ): NJIT, Maine, UMES,
and Army
Offers: “No, not yet. Most likely [they
will come at the] end of the season.”

Mike Celestin ’09, Lenape (NJ): Lehigh, La Salle, Rutgers,
NJIT, and Penn State
Offers: “No offers yet.”
Favorites: “I’m liking Lehigh and Penn
State.”
Note- “I actually might defer a year to go
to prep school [and] let my body and game develop because I won’t [even] be 17
until March,” said Celestin. He added that the schools he is considering are “Trinity
Pawling, which is in New York, Blair [Academy in New Jersey], and The Hun
School [in New Jersey.” Mike would go on to say, “Hopefully that will get me
some more exposure.”
Cameron Badger ’09, APEX Academies (NJ): Manhattan, VMI,
Farleigh Dickinson, Central Connecticut State, Bloomsburg (DII), and Chestnut
Hill (DII)
Offers: Chestnut Hill
Favorites:
“[I have] no favorites. [I am] keeping everything open.”

and Seton Hall

Note- Cantino was not 100% sure of where
his recruitment stands at, saying via text message, “I would have to let you
know [more about my school list] when I find out more.”
