Near End of Early Signing Period College Projections

by Alex Schwartz

With the early signing period coming to a close tomorrow, I thought that it was time to update my college projections. In late August and early September, I picked 36 players and projected their college destination. In early October, I projected where 26 players would go, 23 of which were from the first go-around. Of the 39 total players, using the most up to date projections (so if I listed the player in August/September and October, only October counts) I correctly predicted the choice of 15 (including Abdul Gaddy, who did commit to Arizona as I predicted, but then de-committed and chose Washington, who I had second in line) of the 29 who have made a college choice, while for four of the players I had their actual choice as second in line to land them. Here's what I'm going with now:

Lance Stephenson, Lincoln (NY)
Projection: St. John's
Second in Line: Europe
Third in Line: Kansas

John Wall, Word of God (NC)
Projection: Memphis
Second in Line: Baylor
Third in Line: North Carolina State

Derrick Favors, South Atlanta (GA)
Projection: Georgia Tech
Second in Line: Georgia
Third in Line: North Carolina State

Dominic Cheek, St. Atnhony's (NJ)
Projection: Villanova
Second in Line: Kansas
Third in Line: Pitt

Keith "Tiny" Gallon, Oak Hill Academy (VA)
Projection: Oklahoma
Second in Line: Cal
Third in Line: Mississippi State

Jamil Wilson, Horlick (WI)
Projection: Michigan State
Second in Line: Marquette
Third in Line: Oregon

Renardo Sidney, Fairfax (CA)

Second in Line: Europe
Third in Line: LSU

Durand Scott, Rice (NY)
