I just received word from Northfield Mt. Hermon School (MA) Head Coach John Carroll that another one of his players is off to the Ivy League. Brian Fitzpatrick '09 has verbally committed to play at UPenn. This news comes not long after Andrew McCarthy '09 of NMH committed to Brown. Carroll informed me that Fitzpatrick is the school's seventh player going to the Ivy League in three years, and added that the squad has two more players who could end up in the nation's most prestigious academic conference. Of the duo, Carroll said that for one of them it seems likely he will be playing in the Ivy League. This year's NMH team will be led by Louisville-commit Mike Marra '09, who is regarded as one of the best three-point shooters in the nation. Although Brewster Academy (NH) may well be the class of the NEPSAC A league, Northfield Mt. Hermon is definitely a team to look out for. Once again, in news being first reported by Northstar Basketball, Brian Fitzpatrick has committed to the UPenn Quakers.
