MAJOR NEWS!!! Chris Fouch Out For the Season With Torn ACL

by Alex Schwartz

Earlier today I received word from a source with knowledge of the situation that Drexel freshman Chris Fouch would be out for the season with a torn ACL.  So throughout the day I tried to talk to some sources close to the program to find out more information. In addition, I reached out to Fouch himself tonight.  So here is what I picked up from him and the other three sources. The sharpshooting 2008 graduate of Rice (NY) cleared all the fog by informing me that he "is done for the season with a torn ACL and meniscus." Chris will be applying for a medical redshirt due to the injury, which happened during a pickup game on Saturday when he "dunked on a fast break . . . and came down wrong." I learned from one of the sources that the game included about eight players from the Drexel team who were just playing some basketball for fun. He let me know that he will be out "as of right now for six to eight months." It is unclear exactly how much Fouch would have played this year, but he likely would have had a major role, as he is a lights-out shooter and was a major coup for the Dragons. "I'm kind of down, but I got to [take] the time to get it stronger and get my game stronger. Hopefully I can heal fast," said Fouch via text message when I asked him about his thoughts on the situation, which is being first reported by Northstar Basketball. Fouch has my wishes for a speedy recovery.
