Class of 2009 School Lists- Updates on . . . D. Favors, J. Hamilton, D. Orton, and T. Boyd
I caught up with some of the nation's top players today to get school lists and I'll be posting them class by class. First off, here are the class of 2009 lists:
Derrick Favors ’09, South Atlanta (GA): Georgia Tech, Georgia, Memphis, North Carolina State, and Florida Sate
Offers: All; Georgia Tech, Georgia, Memphis, North Carolina State, and Florida Sate
Favorites: “No, not right now.”
Note- Favors, who plans to commit in “April,” will be cutting down his list prior to making his decision, though he is not sure when he will do this or to how many schools. As well, he said that he is not considering Kentucky as some other media outlets have reported.
Jordan Hamilton ’09, Dominguez (CA): Texas, UConn, USC, Cal, and Syracuse
Offers: All; Texas, UConn, USC, Cal, and Syracuse
Favorites: “I don’t have a leader at this point in time,” but did later add that “the top three [is] . . . Texas, UConn, and USC.”
Note- Hamilton said, “Today [October 6] is my birthday. I was going to commit today, but I didn’t have time to decide because my schools are all good choices.” Instead, Hamilton plans on committing “sometimes later this month, [but] doesn’t have a set date yet.”
Daniel Orton ’09, Bishop McGuinness (OK): Kentucky and Kansas
Offers: Both; Kentucky and Kansas
Favorites: “No leader.”
Note- Orton, who said, “I don’t know yet,” when I asked him when he plans on committing, told me that he “already had [his] Kansas official [visit, and he] . . . goes to Kentucky this weekend.”
Terrence Boyd ’09, San Diego (CA): Oklahoma, Kentucky, UConn, West Virginia, USC, Oklahoma State, Kansas, Kansas State, and Western Kentucky
Offers: Oklahoma, Kentucky, UConn, West Virginia, USC, Oklahoma State, Kansas State, and Western Kentucky
Favorites: His favorites in order are Oklahoma, Kentucky, UConn, Oklahoma State, and Western Kentucky
Note- Boyd had some concerns about Kentucky, saying , “my coaches [have] been telling me [that] . . . they have been reading [Kentucky] fans talking mess. If I find that out I guess it will be adios for them.” He added that his high school head coach Kenny Roy said Kentucky is saying he “only [has] an offer if [AAU teammate] Daniel [Orton goes] there too. If that’s so, then adios it definitely will be.” Terrence seemed baffled by the Kentucky situation a bit, going on to say, “They [said] they have [offered], but my coach [Kenny Roy] and what I’ve been reading [say] different, so really I don’t know man, I don’t know."
