Update on . . . Adbul Gaddy- Re-Commits to Arizona
by Alex Schwartz
According to numerous reports, Abdul Gaddy '09 of Bellarmine Prep (WA) has made his college decision, again. For the second time, Gaddy has selected the Arizona Wildcats, just as Northstar Basketball predicted in late August. Gaddy, who ran with the Northwest Panthers (WA) for AAU ball, is considered by many to be one of the best point guards in America. Abdul is young for a senior and thus has a lot of time to become an even better player as he matures. This is a huge get for Lute Olson and Co., as the Wildcats are trying to rebounds from some recent struggles. As well, the squad lost floor leader Jerryd Bayless to the NBA after one season, and another point guard, Brandon Jennings '08, chose to go overseas rather than to Arizona, which is the school he signed with. Gaddy is one of two point guards committed to the Wildcats in the class of 2009, with the other being Reger Dowell of Duncanville (TX).
