- Rico Winston '09 of Jericho Christian Academy (MD) has picked up his first scholarship offer. The senior received an offer from Army yesterday. He is also hearing from Charlotte, Morgan State, and Clemson.
- Egheosa Edomwonyi '09 of The Hun School (NJ) told me recently that he was planning on narrowing his college list soon. Well, he seems to have begun to do just that, as the 6'7 forward told me the following via text message within the hour: "All I can tell you now is [that] Dartmouth is now in my top five schools, but I can't give out the top five yet." Edomwonyi is being pursued by numerous quality academic institutions, mainly in the Ivy League and Patriot League.
- In-home visits began on Tuesday, and there have been a number of high profile visits thus far. According to Scout, Indiana visited Christian Watford '09 and received a commitment from him. ZagsBlog.net has reported that Dominic Cheek '09 had an in-home visit from Seton Hall. Kenny Boynton '09 has already hosted both Duke and Florida, who many think are his top two schools.
- Point guard Kelvin Amayo '10 has transferred from Hillside (NJ) to St. Benedict's (NJ) for "a better academic environment," as well as a "better basketball environment." Of the many top-notch basketball institutions in the nation, St. Benedict's is one of the best when it comes to academics. Zach Rosen '08 is now at UPenn and Tamir "Pop" Jackson '09 is has a final five that includes two Ivy League schools.
